A cold, windy day on Saturday, and a difficult climb up to the shelter at ~3000' with our heavy packs. The snow was deep and not broken out, and the trail is steep in spots.

It was a cold night, but we had -20 degree sleeping bags and bivy sacks, and some single malt scotch, so we stayed warm.

It was sunny on Sunday despite a forecast for cloudy skies, and the wind had died overnight. So we had a pleasant hike out, at an easy pace, on a well-packed trail.

Thanks to Andi and Phil for a great outing.
